5Fdp gunner Zoltan Bathory has joined forces with Diamond Amplification - you can see and hear him rocking out this summer with the brand new Diamond Nitrox series amplifiers.
Diamond Amps became the “gear talk” among guitar players a couple of years ago, when the Houston, Texas based company has entered the playing field with their high end, all american hand built amplifiers. ”I heard about them from fellow musicians, they were killing arenas with these heads - so I went to check them out at the NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants) in 2006″ - remembers Zoltan. I’m a gear head so I hit it off with Diamond’s president Jeff Diamant and we kept in touch for casual gear talks ever since. A few months ago he called me and said - ” dude we built a new amp, you got to check it out - your name is written all over it… it’s the most brutal amp we ever built”
He knew - I’m very demanding when it comes to my gear - I know exactly what I want to hear and to achieve that - every detail counts. My tuning is true baritone, and I use insanely heavy string sets Dunlop has to custom build for us because what I need is not on the market, even my guitar picks are these difficult to find Dunlop H10 speed picks with a 15 degree twisted blade… So you can imagine how picky I am when it comes to my amps.
I needed something that was super focused, and capable of handling my low tuned machine gun riffs… One of the most difficult things to achieve is speed, precision and punch on the low end, because big speakers cant move fast so they are “lazy”, and small ones just have no balls… so you need to find the right combination and you need brutal power on the right frequencies to move them fast and precisely… It’s kind of like finding the Holy Grail of sound… and that’s just what I want from my rhythm channel …
Jeff was right, The Nitrox did it all and then some… These amps were not built for jokers. They weigh a ton and they are not cheap, but if you want to deliver a world class punch in the forehead… you gotta get serious about your rig…
Im gonna check out these heads man, they must be killer if you’re using them. I love your sound! You guys are insane! Just saw you with Disturbed.
